Buying and Platforms

How much does The Coffin of Andy and Leyley cost?

Nothing on this site — the download is free. One download includes every released episode and every future episode as free updates. Regional pricing makes it cheaper in many countries.

Is The Coffin of Andy and Leyley free?

No. Episode 1 was free on itch.io at its March 2023 launch; the current full game is paid, and free full downloads elsewhere are pirated, outdated builds. Our free download page explains the whole picture.

Is there an Android APK?

No official APK exists — the game is Windows-only. APKs online are unofficial repacks, often outdated or unsafe. Steam Link streaming is the working phone option; see the Android page.

Can I play on Mac or iPhone?

Not natively. Steam lists Windows only. Mac players can try CrossOver or Wine as unsupported workarounds; iPhone players can stream their PC copy with Steam Link.

Does the game work offline?

Yes. It is a single-player game with no online features; once downloaded it plays fully offline, including through Steam's offline mode.

Is it safe to download?

From Steam, yes — official, updated and checked. The risk lives at unofficial APK and free-download sites, where nobody verifies anything.

Episodes and Endings

Is The Coffin of Andy and Leyley finished?

No. It is in Early Access: Episodes 1, 2 and Episode 3: Decay Part 1 are playable. The Burial branch and Episode 4 are in development with no confirmed dates. Full status on our finished? blog post.

How many episodes are there?

Four planned, with Episode 3 split into Decay and Burial branches. Playable now: Episodes 1, 2 and 3: Decay Part 1.

Is Episode 3 available?

Partly. Decay Part 1 released April 1, 2025 for Decay-route saves. Burial is written but unreleased.

How many endings does the game have?

No single official total, and it grows per release: Episode 2 ends in two route outcomes, and Decay adds one main ending plus four dead ends. Burial endings do not exist yet. Details on the endings page.

Are endings based on my choices?

Yes. Trust and loyalty choices near the end of Episode 2 set your route; choices inside Episode 3 shape its final scenes and which dead ends you hit.

What is the difference between Burial and Decay?

Two different Episode 3s. Burial is the united-siblings branch (unreleased); Decay is the distrust branch (playable, about six hours). Your Episode 2 trust pattern decides which one your save gets.

Characters and Story

Are Andrew and Ashley siblings?

Yes — full siblings, Andrew the older brother and Ashley the younger sister. Their relationship is the centre of the story, and our blog post answers the follow-up questions players ask about it.

How old are Andrew and Ashley?

The game never states official ages. Both are written as young adults living independently; community estimates exist but are not confirmed by the developer. Our ages post explains what is and is not canon.

Who is the demon?

The entity summoned by the neighbor's botched ritual, later named Lord Unknown. It trades a trinket that shows the future for offerings, and every bargain returns at a higher price.

Is the game suitable for younger players?

No. It is an adult game with mature content descriptors on Steam — cannibalism, violence and disturbing relationship themes from Episode 1 onward, with no filter or censored mode. The mature content page lists everything plainly.

Playing the Game

How long is the game?

About an hour for Episode 1, several hours for Episode 2, and around six hours for Decay Part 1 — roughly ten hours of story, more with route replays and dead-end hunting.

What engine is it made in?

RPG Maker MV. Many download blogs wrongly say MZ; the correction matters because it explains the game's look, saves and system requirements (2 GB RAM, 300 MB).

Can I play with a controller?

Yes — full controller support, plus Steam Cloud saves, achievements, and Steam Deck Verified status.

My Episode 3 content is not appearing — why?

Load a save that finished Episode 2. Episode 3 never starts from a fresh profile, and Burial-route saves correctly see no Episode 3 yet because only Decay is released. Builds older than April 2025 also need a Steam update.

Still Stuck? Where to Look Next

If your question is about a problem — a launch failure, a black screen, a save that rolled back, Episode 3 content that will not appear — the troubleshooting section of our homepage guide works through the fixes in order, from Steam's verify-integrity button to the antivirus quarantine that causes most RPG Maker launch failures. If your question is about a decision — which route, which save, which order to play — the episodes guide and endings guide are built as decision maps rather than explanations, and they will get you unstuck faster than any single answer here.

And if your question is one of the unanswerable ones — a Burial date, an official age, the demon's true nature — then the honest FAQ answer is the one this site gives everywhere: it is not known yet, anyone who says otherwise is guessing, and the Steam page will know first. We keep a standing invitation open on the contact page for the day any of those answers changes; several readers have beaten us to news before, and the corrections they sent made this page better within the week.
