The Blog — News, Theories and the Arguments That Never End

The guides on this site answer the questions with right answers. The blog answers the other kind — the questions players argue about on Reddit, Steam discussions and Discord at 2 a.m.: Is the game finished? How many endings are there really? Is Ashley a villain or a victim? What is Lord Unknown actually planning? Every post below takes one of those live community topics and gives it the full, sourced treatment.

Start With the Status Questions

These four posts track the game's vital signs: whether it is finished, how its endings actually count, and the two release dates the whole fandom is waiting on. Start here if you have just bought the game and want to know what exists, what is still coming, and which sites are inventing dates to farm your clicks.

Is The Coffin of Andy and Leyley Finished?

The most-asked question in the fandom, answered with the full timeline: what Early Access means here, what has shipped since the 2023 itch.io launch, and what finished will look like when Burial and Episode 4 land.

How Many Endings Does TCOAAL Have?

Other sites answer this with invented lists. We count only what exists - route outcomes, Decay's endings and its dead ends - and explain why the total changes with every release and why Burial breaks every current count.

The script is written; the branch is not out. This post tracks the difference, explains why Burial is a separate Episode 3 rather than a patch, and lists the fake countdowns to ignore.

The Relationship Questions

The five most-searched questions about this game are all, underneath, the same question: what exactly are Andrew and Ashley Graves to each other? Episode 3 answered more of these than players expected - a kiss, a confession, one ending where they live as a couple, and one pregnancy. Each post below takes one question and gives it the full route-by-route treatment, spoilers included.

Did Andy and Leyley Kiss?

Did Andy and Leyley Kiss?

Yes - in a branch-dependent Episode 3 Decay scene most players never reach. Where it happens, the cheek-kiss line everyone quotes, and why the Episode 2 vision is a different thing entirely.

Only in some routes - and the one full couple ending, Shots and Such, is a slow disaster under a stolen identity. Every route's verdict, plus what the unreleased Burial branch leaves open.

Does Andy Love Leyley?

Yes - completely and ruinously. The childhood bond built by neglect, the adult who keeps paying for it, the control that rides along with the care, and what his love does not excuse.

Does Ashley Get Pregnant in TCOAAL?

Only in one ending: Shots and Such. What that ending actually shows, the eight-step choice chain needed to reach it, and why screenshots of it keep getting misread as a main plot event.

Episode 3 confirms feelings he suppressed for years - in his own narration. The evidence planted since Episode 1, the hollow Julia chapter, and what he actually does with the confession.

The Character Debates

Four posts on the arguments that never close: whether Ashley is the monster or the primary victim, the ages the game refuses to print, the height the internet invented anyway, and the sibling question that sounds simple until you look at how these two were raised - and what raised them instead of parents.

Ashley Graves - Villain or Victim?

Reddit's eternal thread, taken seriously: the strongest case for Ashley as the story's monster, the strongest case for her as its primary victim, and why the game refuses to settle it for you.

The game never says, and the internet hates that. This post separates what the text actually establishes from the community estimates that hardened into facts through repetition.

A joke question with a real methodology: sprite proportions, scene comparisons, and why every confident number you have seen is an estimate wearing a fact's clothes.

Are Ashley and Andrew Siblings?

Yes - and the post exists because of the follow-ups: why people ask, what kind of siblings the writing makes them, and how the parents' neglect is the mechanism under the whole story.

Theories, Fandom and Practical Posts

The demon's endgame, the game's real length, and the community that carried a two-person indie project to millions of players with no marketing at all. These are the posts for readers who have finished everything released and are now arguing about what it all means - which, for this fandom, is most of the year.

Fan Art and the Community That Built a Fandom

No ads made this game - players did. How fan art, memes and route debates carried it, what the community's norms are, and where its adult side fences itself off.

New posts land here when the game moves: a Burial date, an Episode 4 announcement, or a community argument good enough to deserve 1,000 words. Until then, the FAQ handles the quick questions and the guides handle the practical ones.

How We Choose What to Write About

Blog topics here come from a simple listening exercise: the questions and arguments that recur, week after week, in the game's Steam discussions, its subreddits and its Discord servers. When a hundred players ask whether the game is finished, that is a post. When a theory about Lord Unknown keeps resurfacing with new evidence after every progress report, that is a post. When the Ashley trial reopens — it reopens monthly — that is a post with a long memory and a short fuse.

The standard for publishing one is the site's standard everywhere: verify what can be verified, label what cannot, and never manufacture a fact to fill a gap the community is impatient about. Release-date posts say 'no date exists' until one does. Theory posts rank by evidence, not by drama. Debate posts build both cases at full strength before offering a reading. If a topic cannot survive that treatment, it stays a forum thread — which is where roughly half the internet's TCOAAL content should probably have remained.

Suggest a Topic

The suggestion box is the community itself: if a question, theory or argument is recurring in the game's spaces and nobody has given it the long treatment, it belongs here. Send candidates through the contact page with a link to the thread that convinced you — recurring is the operative word, because a topic one person wonders about is a FAQ entry, while a topic five hundred people argue about is a blog post waiting for its evidence to be gathered. Release news preempts the queue whenever it lands; a Burial announcement would, and everyone involved in this site would be delighted to drop everything and write that post instead.
